Luis Pedraza
My name is Luis, I was born in 1985 and I am currently living in Madrid. I have studied Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid where I won a few exhibition prizes and imparted extraordinary lectures on rendering, renderers and lighting techniques using 3D Software. Right now I split up my time between the 360º marketing agency CDoble working as creative designer specialized in Visual Merchandising and exhibiton design, and Aerial, my own initiative. My creative interests are hybridations of all kinds, duality and fragmentation as a recurrent theme, and light as narrative technique. Probably my strongest stylistic and philosophic influence is the Renaissance, but Baroque, Art Nouveau and street art Graffiti also influenced the way I use my canvas not as a closed space but making it an active participant of the space surrounding it, and using that space for the work´s benefit. Limitation bores me, so I try to stay fresh with varied themes, canvases and techniques which allow me to achieve my goals, from physics or hydraulics to arquitecture, music or psicology to philosphy, video games and literature.

Just a self taught artist with one thing in mind and that’s to paint in a way that it pulls a person into my artworks. I ask the question, do you feel you can reach behind the painted flower and pluck it off the canvas? If so then my floral paintings have accomplish my goal by activating your mind and making you apart of the artwork. Not only is this in floral oil paintings but also in landscapes and my wildlife oil paintings. To accomplish this I use artist oil paint colors.
To me my artwork is achieving realism on a canvas. In an illustrative way it’s like a person looking out a window at a wonderful scene. The window is the canvas, the scene is my artwork and the person look out is you being completely apart of and thoroughly involved in viewing the artwork. If I can do this, I am very happy knowing I’ve made you happy and reached my goal.

Nicole Perkins
Nicole
I am currently a student of art living in Texas. I have practiced some form of art or another my whole life. This fact does not make me any better at art, unfortunately. I love photography (http://www.flickr.com/nicoleperkins) and drawing/painting/sculpting (http://www.ffartt.tumblr.com). I am new. I have a lot of photographs to update to my websites so bear with me! I love things that are unconventional and surreal.

It seems the older we get the less we use our imaginations. When we are kids we are always drawing and creating. We imagine new worlds full of imaginary characters in which there are no rules, no rights or wrongs, and we don’t care what others may think. As kids we have no concept of the word cant. Then we grow up and somewhere along the way we lose all that. Imagination takes a back seat. It is not a trait that is desirable anymore. We lose the ability to escape from the realities that come with adulthood. We have to fit in and conform, it is no longer ok to use our imaginations to escape to a world all our own. In this way I have yet to grow up I enjoy creating a world all my own, to manipulate as I please, create things never seen, get lost in the process of patterns and lines, the colors, meticulous detail. To feel the wonder the way you would when you’re a kid. This is something I can never let go of.
The titles of my work are an integral part meant to make the viewer stop and take a second look. To view it in a whole knew way. Creating a story of sorts for the viewer to play out in their mind. My work is intended to pull the viewer in and remind them of the stories they read as a kid. I want the viewer to return to that feeling of wonder they would escape to as a child.
